Savin' {Hummingbird} Lives

So, these little creatures are cracking me up these days.

Hummingbird01W

We have a hummingbird feeder on our back porch, and it is seemingly frequented every second of the day.  HOWEVER, these guys apparently missed the "sharing is caring" memo.  One will perch on that little hook on look-out.  And if another comes flying in to innocently take a drink, the look-out guy will swoop in to scare the unsuspecting one away.

Seriously, guys, there's enough food for everyone!

The other day Jeremy called me out to his shop, and pointed to the corner where a little hummingbird was just hanging out on the floor. After a minute it became obvious the little guy wasn't going anywhere, so Jerm picked him up.

Still not flying.
Jeremy, being the hummingbird whisperer he is, decided to take him to get a little drink.

I guess these guys need constant hydration, because a few minute of magic red drink tlc, and he was on his way!

Sweet little things!

Bike Rides & Slip N Slides

I cannot even believe the June we have had!

Typically, in the Pacific Northwest, we are treated to overcast skies and some drizzle in the month of June.
Not this year!  No sir!  We have had gorgeous, sunshiny weather.  And we are lovin' it!

Miss Kam has been learning to ride without training wheels:

{All of the attention on Kam has been rough on the tiniest babe}

Mama stole Sissy's bike for a quick ride around the parking lot ;)

She's gettin' it, sweet girl!

Bikes04W

We've met up with friends for FroYo!

And we've been doing a LOT of this:

Slide01W

Slips and Slides

Slide02W

and soaking in that glorious sun!

And as if the slip n slide weren't enough fun,

Slide04W

we picked up  a pool, and got it set up yesterday, so even more outdoor fun will be had.

Slide05W
And one of the tastiest activities we've been up to . . .

Jam01W

Making Strawberry Jam!

Jam02W

It's been awhile since we'd made jam with Grandma, and we thought it was about time to start up the tradition.  Miss Kenners helped every step of the way . . . she loves being in the kitchen ♥

Last weekend was CRAZY with Tay's birthday, my birthday, a party, and Father's Day.
And we're looking at another crazy busy week ahead.  I think this is the norm for us, I'd better get used to it!

What have you been up to??

Hugs,
Liz

To The Beach We Go! Part 2 & Other Things

 Woah.
Once Memorial Day hit it was like: ready, set, Summer!
Try as I might, it's a struggle to keep up with all of the photos!

A little snapshot of our week: Yesterday was Taylor's 4th birthday.  Jeremy was at work, so trying to convince a four year old to "wait until Daddy gets home" the following day to open presents . . . not pretty.  The whole day was somewhat miserable, if I'm going to be honest.  Tay woke up grumpy which led to others catching the grump bug.  And as much as I love birthdays {or most traditions at all, really}, they can be hard, y'all.  I'm just going to put this out there . . . I have never had a four year old and not had a younger child in the house.  I have never had a four year old who is the baby.  To say that it makes me sad is the understatement of the year.

Ahhhhh, but anyway.  Our week.
Today is my birthday.
But we're just going to forget about that because when you are over thirty you do not have birthdays anymore ;)
My niece is coming to spend the weekend with the girls.
There may or may not be a Cupcake Wars planned.

Tomorrow is Taylor's party. Sunday is Father's Day.
And because Jeremy works on Father's Day this year, we are going to be celebrating with a barbecue on Monday.

Tuesday I have a photo session at our dental office. Wednesday we are wedding gift shopping!
And then it's time to pack, and head down to Medford again for another wedding!
Eeeek!

And that's how it's been since May.
Always on the go!

A couple of weeks ago we got to spend a couple of days at the beach, and we had such fun!

Beach24W

On the way back from dinner one night, we found a gorgeous spot to just stare out over the ocean.

Day 2 on the beach was WINDY.

Beach28W

We only made it about a half hour before we couldn't take it any longer, and had to haul our windblown selves back to the lodge.

Then it was pretty much a snooze-fest . . .

until it was time to head home.

Home is good.
Home is where the fresh peach, strawberry, and blueberry smoothie lives.

Treats01W

And let me tell you, we've been needing those because it has been so sunny and warm!

Treats02W

What a wonderfully welcome change from the typically overcast, cool, and sometimes rainy days that June can bring!

Treats03W

More sun means more sprinklers, more slip n slides, more popsicles . . .

Treats04W

and more barbecues!

And I couldn't love it any more!

Happy 4th Birthday, Taylor Grace!!!

Taylor Grace, how is it possible that you are four years old today?

I'm pretty sure it was just yesterday that we were doing this:

Meeting you for the first time.

Babygirl4

Our fourth girl.

Lately I've been having lots of conversations with myself.

They go a little something like this:
"It's fine. You're going to be fine.  So what if the girls are growing like weeds, changing every single day?  That's alright. Each stage is new and different.  Each stage is a blessing in its own way."

And it will be fine.  It *is* good.  I *do* love each new stage.

But boy do I long for those baby days.

I miss your chubby legs.

I miss carrying you around everywhere we go.

But what fun it is to see you become your own little person.

To watch your personality grow.

You are definitely your own little person.
And so different from each of your big sissies.

You got that "baby of the family" thing down pat.

You want what you want, and you want it NOW.

But most of us are happy to oblige, because when you look up at us with those big blue eyes, and smile that silly smile, we pretty much melt.

Every day is a new adventure with you.

We never know what will come out of your mouth

What new ideas you'll have

Or, truth be told, what kind of mood we'll be in for each day!

But God sure knew what He was doing when He blessed us with you.

Our sweet little Taylor Grace

who . . .

*Loves My Little Pony
{watch out, she'll list every name and cutie mark, and give you detailed information on the differences between each one!}

*Would Rather Be Indoors Than Out
{my only baby girl who prefers to be inside, in fact}

*HATES Car Rides With A Passion

*Just Slept All Night In Her Big Girl Bed For The First Time Ever!

*Tells The Longest Stories Known To Man

*Wishes She Could Stay A Baby Forever
{Okay, I'll go along with that!}

*Could Live At The Beach

Happy Birthday to My Sweet, Sassy, Four Year Old Darlin Girl!

Love you to the moon!
