Baby, It's Cold Outside!

*Playing in the snow with children, How-Tos* (Use pictures, below, for visual aid)

#1. Bundle up. Start with a warm layer, add snow bibs, scarves, hats, (enormous) gloves, super plush and bulky parkas, and snow boots. Once the little sugarplums are unable to move a muscle, you'll know you're set! Just as you're ready to head out the door you will hear "I have to go potty!" Peel off layer after layer, send them to the bathroom, then start again from the beginning.

#2. Once outside fling yourself into the snow and start vigorously moving your arms and legs to create the perfect snow angel. Repeat this step 42 million times all throughout your yard.

#3. Sneak a nibble of snow when no one is watching ;)

When you've had your fill of the fluffy white stuff, come in for some hot cocoa!

Enjoy these special moments with your own sugarplums. They grow so quickly!

Holiday Traditions

For the last several years we've been searching for a tradition we can call our own, and this year we found an outing that we loved ~ a visit to the Pittock Mansion. The girls and I made the drive with my mom and mother-in-law, and had such a wonderful time ooohing and ahhhing over the decorations. The pictures don't do it justice, but I promise you, it was well worth it!
*Note: No flash photography was allowed, please forgive the blurry pictures! :)

Time . . . Where are you going?

*Pardon the grumpy goose in Picture #1 . . . we'd had a very long day at the pumpkin patch ;)

I cannot believe that another October has just flown right by me. We are now looking at less than 50 days until Christmas!!! Where does the time go? I hope you all had a fabulous Halloween. Though ours was pretty quiet this year, compared to the last few, I think we all enjoyed ourselves. The girls were the cutest little black cats you've ever seen, and they managed to get their hands on quite a bit of candy. Now if I could just get time to slow down a bit . . .

Life's a Beach ~ A warm, sunny, gorgeous one!

The girls and I went to the beach with Geri this weekend. What beautiful weather! We had such a great time building sandcastles, splashing in the (mighty cold) water, riding the carousel, and shopping! We will have to make this an annual trip!

Welcoming a new little Sugarplum . . .

My sister, Annie, had a new baby girl on August 19th. We finally managed to make the trip down to Medford this week, and we were met with the cutest little pumpkin ever! See for yourself! The girls had a ball taking turns holding her . . . I did too! Just check out that sweet little face, and those adorable little feet. Big brother, Jaymes, is quite the cutie too, don't ya think? We just adored the time we got to spend with them. It was great practice for next Spring when we will add a new sugarplum to our own family ;)

Summer Fun at Oaks Park

Geri and I took the girls on our annual (well, 2nd annual) trip to Oaks Park. This year the weather was just gorgeous. Beautiful sunshine, but not too hot. Did we have fun? I think the pictures speak for themselves . . .
